The complaint of the Member of the National Assembly, Honourable Mr. D. Khamajeet against Radio Plus, will be heard by the ‘Complaints Committee’ of IBA on the 28th November 2011

The Independent Broadcasting Corporation has received a complaint from Jaykar Gujadhur, the Attorney-at-Law of the Member of the National Assembly, Mr. D. Khamajeet concerning the impromptu speech made by his client on the 22nd September 2011.

The Attorney-at-Law complains that the impromptu speech of his client has been doctored and/ or edited to cause him harm and prejudice. He adds that he asked Radio Plus for a complete copy of his client’s impromptu speech but the radio station refused to communicate to him a copy of that speech.

Furthermore, in the complaint, Mr. D. Khamajeet stated that the extracts of the tape aired was doctored and/ or manipulated and/ or over summarised and/or depicted out of context so to give the impression that his client is a person who indulges in malpractices or operates against the laws of Mauritius.

He also pointed out that the extracts of the tape had been aired in gross violation of the Code of Ethics as per the schedule of IBA.
